CWS Creatives is a group for female creatives that work for themselves or by themselves. Our monthly meet up events are held in Preston, Lancashire. We’re all here to support each other as small indie business owners!
A place to ask even the silliest question, get business advice, network and make new friends. It’s a relaxed non-salesy atmosphere – no 60 second elevator pitches! During the Meet Up we have a taster workshop or talk from one of our members and the rest of the time is open to chat with other attendees.
We will be at the co-working space Society 1 and there will be tea and coffee and treats provided within the price of your ticket. Whoop!
This event is open to non-members so tell your friends or colleagues and grab them a ticket.
£1 from each ticket goes to a CWS Creatives business and they provide a gift for each attendee!
This month’s theme is –
Get yourself pitch perfect – top tips for PR’ing yourself and your business
Want to do some PR for your business but don’t know where to start? Scared that doing PR right is all about paying out big agency fees? Emma and Louise from District May are here to help, sharing their insider secrets and giving you the tools to help create your own PR strategy and find opportunities to promote yourself and your business.
They will be covering off the basics of getting started with your own PR – setting clear objectives, how to identify your audience and the channels that you should be using to communicate to them, how to find and tell your story, top tips for building the right media contacts, how to pitch to media and how to tie-in with seasonal hooks or jump on trending stories. There will also be a Q&A session at the end so come armed with questions.

Where can I park?
There’s no free car park unfortunately, but there are plenty of city centre car parks near by.
Can I bring my child?
This is an adults only meet up. We do hold child friendly meet ups, though the next one won’t be until later in the year.
Do I need to buy my ticket in advance?
Definitely, get your ticket as soon as possible as these events sell out fast.
Do I need to bring anything along with me?
Just yourself and maybe some business cards and something to make notes on (like your phone, or a notepad)
Do I need to be a member to come along?
Not at all! As long as you are a female business owner/self employed you are welcome to attend
Will I have to speak in front of everyone?
Definitely not! We try and keep our meet ups as low key as we can. We have a signing in wall so you can see who is here and Morgana is on hand to welcome and do any introductions.
Morgana is the founder of CWS Creatives and a social media coach for small businesses and entrepreneurs, specialising in Instagram and Pinterest. Based in the North West of the UK, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. She particularly enjoys a Netflix binge watch and cannot function without black coffee and dark chocolate digestives.
